Surah Ar Rahman
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
1. الرَّحْمَنُ
Ar Rahman
(Allah) Most Gracious!
2. عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ
‘Allamal Quran
It is He Who has taught the Qur´an.

3. خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ
Khalaqal insaan
He has created man:
4. عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ
‘Allamahul bayaan
He has taught him speech (and intelligence).
5. الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
Ashshamsu walqamaru bihusbaan
The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed;
6. وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudan
And the herbs and the trees – both (alike) prostrate in adoration.
7. وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ
Wassamaaa’a rafa’ahaa wa wada’al Meezan
And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),
8. أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ
Allaa tatghaw fil meezaan
In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance.
9. وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ
Wa aqeemul wazna bilqisti wa laa tukhsirul meezaan
So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.
10. وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
Wal arda wada’ahaa lilanaam
It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:
11. فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ
Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates);Walhabbu zul ‘asfi war Raihaanu
Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?14. خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ
He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,Wa khalaqal jaaan mim maarijim min naar
And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Rabbul mashriqayni wa Rabbul maghribayn
(He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Marajal bahrayni yalta qiyaan
He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:Bainahumaa barzakhul laa yabghiyaan
Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Yakhruju minhumal lu ‘lu u wal marjaanu
Out of them come Pearls and Coral:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?24. وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ
Wa lahul jawaaril mun sha’aatu fil bahri kal a’laam
And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Kullu man ‘alaihaa faan
All that is on earth will perish:27. وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?29. يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ
Yas’aluhoo man fissamaawaati walard; kulla yawmin huwa fee shaan
Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)!Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Sanafrughu lakum ayyuhas saqalaan
Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds!Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?33. يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ
Yaa ma’sharal jinni wal insi inis tata’tum an tanfuzoo min aqtaaris samaawaati wal ardi fanfuzoo; laa tanfuzoona illaa bisultaan
O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass!Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?35. يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
Yursalu ‘alaikumaa shuwaazum min naarinw-wa nuhaasun falaa tantasiraan
On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?37. فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاء فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ
Fa-izan shaqqatis samaaa’u fakaanat wardatan kaddihaan
When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?39. فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ
Fa-yawma’izil laa yus’alu ‘an zambiheee insunw wa laa jaann
On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?41. يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ
Yu’raful mujrimoona biseemaahum fa’yu’khazu binna waasi wal aqdaam
(For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?43. هَذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ
Haazihee jahannamul latee yukazzibu bihal mujrimoon
This is the Hell which the Sinners deny:Yatoofoona bainahaa wa baina hameemim aan
In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round!Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Wa liman khaafa maqaama rabbihee jannataan
But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens-Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-Zawaataaa afnaan
Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);-Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-Feehimaa ‘aynaani tajriyaan
In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free);Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-Feehimaa min kulli faakihatin zawjaan
In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?54. مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
Muttaki’eena ‘alaa furushim bataaa’inuhaa min istabraq; wajanal jannataini daan
They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach).Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?56. فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
Feehinna qaasiratut tarfi lam yatmishunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann
In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-Ka annahunnal yaaqootu wal marjaan
Like unto Rubies and coral.Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Hal jazaaa’ul ihsaani illal ihsaan
Is there any Reward for Good – other than Good?Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
Wa min doonihimaa jannataan
And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,-Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-Mudhaaammataan
Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering).Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Feehimaa ‘aynaani nad daakhataan
In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance:
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Feehimaa faakihatunw wa nakhlunw wa rummaan
In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates:Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?Feehinna khairaatun hisaan

Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
78. تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.
Read and Listen Surah Rahman which is 55th Surah of the Quran. Surah Rahman ( Surah Ar Rahman ) has 78 verses (Ayat). Surah Rahman ( Surah Ar Rahman ). There is disagreement between Islamic scholars about whether Surah Rahman ought to be categorized with suras of the Makkah or Madinah period.
The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) went to the companions and recited Surah ar Rahman but they were all quiet. He told them that he went to the jinn and recited it to them and they were responsive. And when he would recite the verses ‘And which of the favours of the Lord will you deny’ the jinn would respond ‘There is nothing among your bounties that we can deny, all praise belong to Allah
Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Everything has an adornment, and the adornment of the Qur’an is Surah Ar Rahman
Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Everything has an adornment, and the adornment of the Qur’an is Surah Ar Rahman
We should also memorize Surah Rahman( Surah Ar Rahman ) so that we can recite it on daily basis. Since Surah Rahman ( Surah Ar Rahman ) has only 78 verses ,we can memorize entire Surah in almost two and half month by memorizing just two or three verse per day. This is not a big task but there are countless benefits.
